Republican political operative Mike Murphy, lately running the Right to Rise super-PAC supporting Jeb Bush’s moribund presidential campaign, recently dubbed Donald Trump a “false zombie frontrunner.”

“He’s dead politically, he’ll never be president of the United States, ever,” Murphy told Sasha Issenberg of Bloomberg. “By definition I don’t think you can be a front-runner if you’re totally un-electable. I think there’s there an a-priori logic problem in that.”

Is Murphy a spooky soothsayer? A new CBS News/New York Times poll found Trump trailing former neurosurgeon Ben Carson nationally — after nearly three months of dominating the Republican field.

Julie Mason, host of the Press Pool with Julie Mason on SiriusXM’s POTUS channel 124, talked about it with New York Times campaign reporter Maggie Haberman.

After this week’s CNBC debate, however, it looks increasingly like Bush, not Trump, needs a re-animator.
