For Wilson, the offseason has been all about getting valuable reps with his new signal-caller and quarterback. He emphasized the importance of building chemistry and understanding Rodgers’ perspective on and off the field.

“When you have a new signal caller coming in and a new quarterback, you just want to be able to get those reps and bookmark some certain routes together and we got a chance to do that,” Wilson stated. “We actually have a really small sample size together, but we feel like we took full advantage of the time we did have together.”

One of the key topics discussed was the transition from his rookie season under Coach Mike LaFleur to the new offensive system led by Coach Hackett. While the West Coast offense remains at the core of both systems, Wilson acknowledged the nuances that come with a new offense.

“Lucky for me, it’s been super similar, you know, they’re both a West Coast offense and have the same premises. But, you know, with this new offense, there are a few nuances that you just got to be keen on when you’re a skilled player in the offense, especially having someone like Aaron Rodgers as your quarterback,” Wilson expressed.

Wilson credited teammates Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, who have experience with the system, for their assistance in his development, “They’re great dudes, man, and great players. So, you know, I’m really excited to have them around, but, like you said, with the transition in offense, it’s just made it super easy on me to have people in the room that spent a good amount of time in those systems.”
