The Los Angeles Rams aren’t much for making statements with the outcome of games.

Sure, they beat the Dallas Cowboys Sunday and it could very well be classified as a “statement” victory for a franchise starting over with a new coach and trying to rebound from last year’s disastrous start to its move to LA.

‘Our expectations are always going to be, ‘Go out there and get a W”

The Cowboys are considered an upper-tier team, one that was considered out of the Rams’ weight class. But that isn’t how Rams rookie wide receiver Cooper Kupp or his teammates saw their 35-30 triumph.

“Maybe it is (a statement win) for some people, but our expectations are always going to be, ‘Go out there and get a W,'” Kupp told Steve Torre and Bill Lekas on the Sunday Drive. “That’s just the mindset we have as we prepare and go about our business.”

‘For us, it’s just about going out there and executing and doing what the coaches ask of us’

Still, after the Cowboys rebounded from their blowout loss to Denver with a Week 3 victory against Arizona, they were thought to have righted themselves. As a result, for the Rams, there is no escaping that “statement” perception.

“Some people are probably going to say that,” Kupp said. “But for us, it’s just about going out there and executing and doing what the coaches ask of us. Our expectation is to win games, and I don’t think that’ll ever change.”
