Florida’s Michael McNeely credits blockers, coaches for touchdown on fake field goal

So how was your weekend?

It would be hard to top Florida wide receiver Mike McNeely’s, as the Gator walk-on scored a game-changing touchdown on a fake field goal that helped Florida to a huge upset over Georgia on Saturday.

McNeely has great respect in the locker room, is known for his hard work ethic, and even showed up on time for his standard bagging and cashier shift at the supermarket Publix on Sunday. (Here’s a full breakdown of all things McNeely over the past few days)

On top of that, he was recently accepted to the University of Florida’s medical school.

With his new-found celebrity, McNeely joined SiriusXM College Sports Nation‘s Jack Arute to talk about the upset and his trick play:

Coach Hutzler and Coach Muschamp drew it up and they came up with a great scheme and they called it. And then afterward the blocking was perfect for me […] it opened up for me and all I had to do was run.
