Miami Marlins aren’t trading Giancarlo Stanton (so stop asking)

Looking for a right fielder? Don’t look in Miami.

Despite a 100-loss, last place finish in 2013, Marlins’ GM Dan Jennings told MLB Network Radio that his team still will not trade 23 year-old Giancarlo Stanton, the centerpiece of a lineup that finished last in all of baseball in every major offensive category.

“Mr. Stanton is not available. He is going to be in right field at Marlins Park,” Jennings said. “We’re excited, we think it’s going to be a lot of fun building around him, and what he can mean to this ball club and that city.”

Jennings went on to talk about what the Marlins will do to improve their offense next season.

“It’s no secret, we’re going to have to do some work this winter and go out and get a few bats that can help that lineup and give us depth.”
