Recently on the Howard Stern Show, Howard called Public Enemy’s 911 is a Joke the greatest rap ever written. Howard 100 News reporter Lisa G spoke with Flavor Flav about the compliment, and got the story behind the song.

“You gotta tell Howard I said thank you, man. That’s the man right there,” Flav said. “Way back in the days when I was in gangs, we had a gang fight and one of my friends got stabbed. We called 9-1-1. They were supposed to be there within six minutes, but they came in like 26 minutes, and on the way to the hospital he died. That’s when I wrote 911 is a joke.”
