‘First Alert’: Moone Walker Explains the Body Positive Inspiration Behind His Song ‘LIZZO’

Moone Walker is an on-the-rise hip-hop artist from Miami, Florida, whose recent track “LIZZO” was crowned a First Alert by Hip Hop Nation (Ch. 44) in a series that highlights breakout artists. To celebrate, we asked him a few questions about what inspired him to create “LIZZO” and the meaning behind it.

HHN: What inspired your song “LIZZO”?

MW: I was inspired to make the song “LIZZO” after the backlash that she received when she went to the Lakers game.

HHN: Has the song received any reaction as yet from Lizzo herself?

MW: Her reaching out would be awesome, but the song is about spreading the message of body positivity.

HHN: Tell us about where you’re from and how it feels to wave the flag for your hometown.

MW: Being able to wave the flag for my hometown of Miami is dope, especially with the wave of new artists that’s coming.

HHN: What inspired your artist name “Moone Walker”?

MW: The name “Moone Walker” was inspired by my Virgo brother, the legend, Michael Jackson.

HHN: What’s next on your calendar for 2022? Give us the big picture.

MW: More videos for my projects and the dopest stuff y’all ever heard, more shows, and the possibility of a new project. Stay tuned.
