Premiering May 27 at 7pmThe Beer Hour with Johnathan Wakefield — a new six-part series on Business Radio (Ch. 132) — will explore the intersection of craft beer and popular culture. Hosted by acclaimed Miami craft beer brewer Johnathan Wakefield of J. Wakefield Brewing in Wynwood, the show will include guests from both the craft beer universe and pop culture.

In addition to his internationally acclaimed beers, Wakefield is known for his love of sports, comics, street art, music, sneakers, and Star Wars — which inspire the names and labels of his beers. The show will feature two guests, each week; one craft beer brewer and one craft beer lover from some other field of endeavor, such as chefs, artists, musicians and athletes. JWB’s head brewer and operations manager, Maria Cabré, will co-host the show. Guests will discuss all of Wakefield’s passions as well as broader-ranging topics, including diversity in brewing and the corporatization of the industry. Hear from industry influencers like Teo Hunter, co-founder of Crown and Hops, and Aaron Brooks, executive chef at EDGE, Steak & Bar at the Four Season Miami.

“I’m so excited about the new show and being able to talk to interesting people, not only about craft beer, but the industry itself, larger social issues and all the stuff we love in pop culture,” Wakefield said.

After the show’s premiere, hear replays on May 28 at 2am ET, May 29 at 8pm ET, and May 30 at 9pm ET, or stream it anytime on the SiriusXM app. Repeat episodes will also be available as podcasts on Pandora.
