Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia told Cal Ripken Jr. and Billy Ripken on Ripken Baseball that he is “a little irritated and angry” about the 65-game suspension of Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun.

“I see, Cal, what you did, for so long, you played every single day and did things right,” Pedroia said. “And you see some of the guys now, […] it bothers you. Because as a kid, I grew up watching players that you knew they played the game hard, they did everything they could, and they didn’t look for an advantage on other players. And that’s the part that upsets me.

“Everybody in the game wants to know when they step in the box, they’re facing a guy that’s on the same level as them, and vice versa,” Pedroia added. “Everybody wants a fair playing field, and I think everyone’s just tired of dealing with this.”

Listen below to hear Pedroia take the Ripken brothers through his new contract extension with the Red Sox, and tune into Ripken Baseball Fridays at 2 pm ET on MLB Network Radio, XM channel 89 and Sirius channel 209.
