It’s been a whirlwind 12 months for the Doobie Brothers, but the band shows no signs of slowing down with a new album and tour on the way. In celebration of their 50th anniversary, Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons will take over Classic Vinyl (Ch. 26) for a special Guest DJ session premiering August 6 at 5pm ET (see the full broadcast schedule below). Johnston and Simmons play some of their favorite classic rock from artists they admire, legendary Doobies tracks, and two new songs from their newly released self-titled EP.

Between being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020, creating their first studio album in seven years, Liberté, and making plans to set off on their rescheduled 50th Anniversary Tour with Michael McDonald later this month, the band has been keeping the spirit of rock alive after rolling with the punches of a tumultuous year. And during the exclusive Classic Vinyl special in honor of their half-century career, fans can hear co-founders Johnston and Simmons play some of their favorite classic rock from artists they admire, legendary Doobies tracks, and two new songs. Also, mark your calendar for the October 1 release of Liberté, the Doobie Brothers’ 15th studio album, via Island Records. Four of the album’s songs can be heard on an EP released August 6.
