Doctor Radio answers your coronavirus questions during live call-in special

As news about coronavirus continues to spread, SiriusXM Doctor Radio (Ch. 110) is dedicated to providing a clearer understanding for listeners. Doctor Radio is hosting another special — Coronavirus: What You Need to Know Now — to keep everyone up to speed. Hear it On Demand and stream Doctor Radio for other helpful health tips (as well as coronavirus updates).

During this Doctor Radio Report, Doctor Radio medical director and NYU Langone Health Professor of Medicine (with a specialization in infectious diseases) Dr. Marc Siegel, MD, will be opening phone lines to tackle live questions about the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Siegel will also be joined by Dr. Michael S. Phillips, MD, Associate Professor at NYU’s Department of Medicine with a specialty in infectious diseases, and Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, Chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and University of Nebraska at Omaha. Siegel has cited the University of Nebraska Medical Center as the frontline of the coronavirus fight (given that it’s the site of the National Quarantine Center), and Gold is sure to paint a clearer picture of the work being done to actively contain and fight the virus, as well as offer tips to those tuning in.

Earlier in the day, during About Our Kids, Lori Evans, PhD, and Dylann Gold, PhD, tackled coronavirus-related anxiety in both children and their parents with the help of Dr. Krystal Lewis, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist at the National Institute of Mental Health. With her extensive professional background in childhood and adolescent anxiety — including cognitive behavioral therapy, self-efficacy, and preventative intervention — she offered coping mechanisms to manage virus-based fear.
