On my live show Saturday morning I’ll be joined by Reza Aslan, best selling author and host of the new Ovation TV series, Rough Draft with Reza Aslan. Aslan’s new show, which premieres this Sunday night and features guests TV legend Norman Lear and singer Ingrid Michaelson, is a lot like Inside the Actors Studio, but with writers, a live musical performance, and lots of cocktails.
Should we close the Guantanamo Bay prison? Aslan, who is also a religious scholar, will join me to discuss President Obama’s push this week to close Guantanamo Bay prison. Is Gitmo making us safer or actually used by terrorists to recruit new followers? Is it true as President Obama said this week that keeping Gitmo open is hurting America’s standing in the world? That and more with Aslan.
Is Apple worried about protecting civil liberties or its corporate brand? NBC’s counterterrorism expert Laith Alkhouri will join me to tackle this issue from a counterterrorism point of view. Is this really about just one phone as the FBI is suggesting? Or is Apple’s CEO Tim Cook correct that FBI wants to require Apple to build a backdoor that will allow the government to access the iPhone data of any person suspected of wrongdoing? Apple filed a motion Thursday with the court asserting that was the real issue. What do you think?
You are my guest! This segment of the show features you, the SiriusXM listeners as my guest. It has been so popular the three weeks in a row we have tried it that we will do two segments of it on Saturday. The first question we will address together is: Can Donald Trump be stopped in the primary or the general election? And in the final segment of the show we will discuss: Should Hillary Clinton release the transcripts of her speeches to Wall Street firms and should Donald Trump release his tax returns?
Hope you not only tune in to my LIVE show, but join the conversation at 877-974-7487. I want to hear what you think about these issues, plus join us for our weekly “Ask A Muslim” a question segment.
