One thing you don’t see in Major League Baseball today is a starting pitcher appearing in a game on just one day of rest, but Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals might do just that.

SiriusXM MLB Network Radio was joined by National’s manager Matt Williams, who spoke about the possibility of his team’s ace pitching on very short rest in the All-Star game at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati on July 14.

“It depends on how he feels,” Williams said. “We trust him that if he’s capable of doing it and wants to do it, that would be up to him and his call. He knows himself and his body enough to know what he can and can’t do.”
