Hip-Hop Nation (Ch. 44) is your home for today’s biggest hip-hop hits & on-the-rise artists

BLACKPINK

The most successful Korean girl group in history is taking time out of their Born Pink World Tour to headline Coachella Day 2. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa released their second album last year to roaring success. In fact, they became the first girl group to simultaneously top the UK and US album charts since Destiny’s Child in 2001! Their Coachella appearance has been met with excitement from fans everywhere, and we can’t wait to see BLACKPINK in action.

Listen to more of the most popular tracks of the day on SiriusXM Hits 1 (Ch. 2), and watch BLACKPINK’s interview in the SiriusXM studios below.

boygenius

Solo artists Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker first came together as boygenius for a critically acclaimed six-song EP in 2018. After a few performances together in the intervening years, the friends reunited for a full album this year. the record was released in March, and the trio was spotted performing in an airport during SXSW the same month. This will be their first time performing at Coachella, and their set will be the biggest they have ever played together. Expect heartbreaking lyrics and masterful guitar riffs from this hotly-anticipated performance.

Head to the link below to see what songs Phoebe Bridgers recommends to soundtrack some very specific situations!

Calvin Harris

Last year the Scottish DJ, producer, and singer released his first album in 5 years, titled Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2. Calvin Harris rose to fame in the 2000s with hits like “Acceptable in the 80s” and “Ready for the Weekend.” He then continued to dominate the electronic dance genre in the 2010s with wildly successful collaborations with huge artists such as Rihanna and Ellie Goulding! It remains to be seen whether he’ll be the only famous face on stage during his set…

Get your fix of dance hits with Diplo’s Revolution (Ch. 52).

Charli XCX

Originally on the line-up of the canceled 2020 iteration of the festival, this year will mark Charli XCX’s first appearance at Coachella. The English electropop star has been on the scene for a decade, but her latest album, Crash, skyrocketed her popularity with pop bops and collaborations with big names like Rina Sawayama, Christine and the Queens, and Caroline Polachek. Known for her high-energy stage presence and rave-like light shows, this set will surely have you dancing!

Check out Charli chatting in the SiriusXM studios below.

Eric Prydz

Swedish DJ and producer Eric Prydz is best known for his 2004 single “Call On Me” and his remix of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall.” As a reasonably underground figure, his dedicated fanbase simply cannot wait to see him return to the festival for the first time in 10 years. Get ready to move like it’s the 2000s!

You can hear more house and techno on BPM (Ch. 51).

Labrinth

Fresh off the success of his soundtrack to HBO’s Euphoria, Labrinth is making his Coachella debut. The British singer, rapper, and producer has several electronic dance hits under his belt, like “Let The Sun Shine” and “Express Yourself.” We’re loving his new single, “Never Felt So Alone,” so we’re hoping for some new music as well as the classics in his set today.

Labrinth and his contemporaries can be found on SiriusXM Chill (Ch. 53).

Rosalía

After performing on the Mojave Tent stage in 2019, this is Rosalía’s second time at Coachella. The Catalan singer has taken the world by storm, with her 2022 album Motomami reaching the top 40 in both the US and UK charts. Her Motomami World Tour has been similarly successful, with videos of the complex choreography going viral on TikTok. We definitely want to see some killer moves in her Coachella performance today!

For more Latin pop hits, head over to Viva (Ch. 763).

The Kid LAROI

This 19-year-old Australian rapper shot to fame in 2021 following his collaboration with Justin Bieber on the song “STAY.” The track earned the pair multiple trophies at both the Billboard Music Awards and the People’s Choice Awards. His debut solo album, The First Time, is due to drop this year, and he’s already venturing into other areas as he was recently cast in an upcoming A24 movie. The Kid LAROI is one to watch, and this is a set you don’t want to miss.
