“I’m still emotioned out,” Coach K tells his co-host Dave Sims. “Again, and we did not play well against North Carolina. North Carolina played great. It was surreal, really.”

He continues to explain that the buildup ahead of Saturday night felt immense, and the outpouring of support came as a surprise. “I never anticipated anything. It was more like a thank-you, you know,” he explains. “So appreciative, but it — it’s really… I can’t put into words, Dave.”

Unfortunately, his team’s performance fell short on such a momentous night. “We weren’t able to translate that to a performance that was at the level of that,” he says. “And we needed it because Carolina was that good.”
