Perhaps all that you needed to know about how the Cleveland Browns treated facing their former head coach, Hue Jackson, was this reaction from tight end David Njoku while appearing on The Sunday Drive.

“You said Hue was coaching?” Njoku told Steve Torre and Bill Lekas after the Browns’ 35-20 victory against Cincinnati when it was mentioned that Jackson is now an assistant with the Bengals.

‘I wish I would have said, ‘Hi,’ or something’

“Yeah, Hue’s an assistant with the Bengals.” Lekas said.

“Really? I didn’t see him there,” said Njoku, who caught five passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. “I didn’t even see him. That’s crazy. I wish I would have said, ‘Hi,’ or something.”

‘We’ve got to go back in the lab and see what we messed up at and keep working hard’

As pleased as the Browns were to win their first road game since 2015, snapping a streak of 25 consecutive losses away from home, they are far from satisfied.

“It’s a great win, but we’re not satisfied yet”

“We’re very happy with the outcome, but there’s always room to improve,” Njoku said. “We’ve got to go back in the lab and see what we messed up at and keep working hard. It’s a great win, but we’re not satisfied yet.”

‘He does not get tackled often’

Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 258 yards and four touchdowns, while rookie running back Nick Chubb contributed 84 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns (one running, one receiving).

“He’s a beast, he’s a beast,” Njoku said of Chubb. “He does not get tackled often. I just hope he keeps on rolling. He doing great things for us.”
