CHVRCHES take the stage with Alt Nation to celebrate new album ‘Every Open Eye’

CHVRCHES — hailing from Glasgow, Scotland — came crashing onto the electro-pop scene in 2013 with their debut album The Bones of What You Believe. In the two years since, the band has been nominated for a handful of awards, toured the globe, stood up for feminism, and of course, recorded their sophomore follow-up. The highly anticipated effort, Every Open Eye, is due out September 25.

The band’s lead singer Lauren Mayberry spoke about the new LP this summer on SiriusXMU with host Jenny Eliscu, sharing the details of their recording proccess.

“We just went back to the studio we have in a little basement flat in Glasgow and we put in some extra sound proofing, and got some extra gear that we collected on tour,” Mayberry said. “We just started writing in there, much as we did with the first album but this time we have the luxury of this being our full time jobs, whereas previously when we were writing we were all working in other things.”

To celebrate the release of the new album, CHVRCHES will take the stage in an exclusive live performance for SiriusXM listeners at Rough Trade NYC in Brooklyn. Ahead of the concert, the band will stop by Alt Nation to talk about their upcoming plans. The pre-show interview airs Friday, September 25 at 5 pm ET on Alt Nation (Ch. 36) with the concert itself following live at 7 pm ET.

In the meantime, check out some performance footage and photos from their last SiriusXM concert!
