This year, SiriusXMU (Ch. 35) celebrated a dual meaning of Earth Day (albeit one day late). In honor of Ed O’Brien‘s first solo album, Earth, the Radiohead guitarist took Complete Control of the channel on Thursday, April 23, which fans can hear again throughout the weekend (on Saturday, April 25 at 3pm ET and Sunday, April 26 at 12am ET) and On Demand.
O’Brien will be offering up his guest DJ skills from home to play a few of his own brand-new songs, as well as selections from musicians who inspire him, including The Clash, Sonic Youth, Brittany Howard, Michael Kiwanuka, Jimi Hendrix, and more. Earth, which O’Brien released under the pseudonym EOB last Friday, April 17, marks his debut as a solo act and features collaboration with Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood, Portishead guitarist Adrian Utley, folk singer Laura Marling, and more.
SiriusXMU is available to both subscribers and non-subscribers for free through May 15 as part of SiriusXM’s recently announced streaming access period (for more information and to start listening, visit SiriusXM.com/streamfree).
