To celebrate 10 wonderful years of The Catholic Channel, we brought together some of the incredible people who helped shape the channel’s direction since its inception in 2006. During a special “Conversations with Cardinal Dolan,” the Archbishop of New York was joined by Father Dave Dwyer, Harry Connick Jr. and talented Catholic Channel hosts who traveled from near and far to take part in the anniversary event.

It was an afternoon filled with lots of laughs, multiple renditions of ‘Happy Birthday’ — including one sung by Harry Connick Jr.! — plenty of opportunities to poke fun at Lino Rulli and incredible reflection on the channel’s 10 great years.

“So 10 years ago, a decade ago, if I understand correctly, the first Sunday of advent 2006, Cardinal Egan, lord have mercy on him, the founder of The Catholic Channel, he offered mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral that was carried by the Catholic Channel,” Cardinal Dolan said. “And that was the beginning of a great thing.”

“He came right here, in the same studio we broadcast from every day, and he blessed Studio 3, Cardinal Egan, it was one of his first official acts as our founder,” Dwyer added.

And 10 years later, Dwyer, Gus Lloyd and Jennifer Fulwiler — and newer additions like Lino Rulli — have been bringing the same joy and insight to viewers across the country.

On Christmas Eve and Day, hear Masses from around the world on The Catholic Channel (Ch. 129). Click here for more info.
