California Chrome goes for middle jewel of Triple Crown at The Preakness Stakes

The Triple Crown drought has spanned decades since Affirmed accomplished the feat in 1978. The thoroughbred racing world is chomping at the bit for a new winner, and California Chrome just might give them one given his impressive opening performance at the Kentucky Derby.

Now, the three-year-old colt has his sights set on the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, The Preakness Stakes, which is expected to have a field that will have a hard time challenging the Derby winner.

You can hear all the ground-pounding excitement of the 139th running of The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans on SiriusXM this Saturday, live from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, starting at 5 pm ET with Horse Racing Radio Network‘s coverage.
