It’s tempting, for sure.
The Philadelphia Eagles are 10-1, the best record in the NFL.
‘That’s how I kind of judge it — off of how we work and how we prepare’
As dominant as they have been in all phases, their players have to fight the urge to look too far ahead and get caught up in thoughts about being a Super Bowl team. So how do they remain focused on the present?
“Just keep reminding ourselves,” defensive end Brandon Graham told Bruce Murray and Brady Quinn on the SiriusXM Blitz. “Because sometimes it feels good to look ahead and be like, ‘Oh, man, I feel like we’ve got the Super Bowl team.’ And I do feel that way because of how we work. That’s how I kind of judge it — off of how we work and how we prepare when we’re playing against an opposing team.
‘Everybody’s calling out plays, calling out, ‘Run … pass’
“Because when we were out there this week (in Sunday’s 31-3 victory against the Chicago Bears), man, we knew. Like everybody’s calling out plays, calling out, ‘Run … pass.’ It’s just a credit to the preparation. And we’re doing it all together.”
Now the challenge is to keep doing it during back-to-back West Coast game against the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams.
‘We’ve really got to make sure that we focus in and lock in’
“I think with this stretch coming up, man, we’ve really got to make sure that we focus in and lock in, because these are some good teams,” Graham said. “It’s not really that hard if we keep reminding each other not to look ahead and focus in on this team.
“And we know we’re going against a good Seattle team this weekend. We’ve got to make sure we come correct when we play those guys, and I think we will.”
