In the “better late than never” department, longtime friends and Outlaw Country running buddies Bobby Bare and Cowboy Jack Clement were notified of their induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame (along with Kenny Rogers) Class of 2013 earlier this year. Sadly, Clement didn’t make it until the Medallion Ceremony on October 27, and passed away on August 8.

Here’s an audio clip of Bare waxing fondly about his departed pal during the Americana’s Most Wanted guitar-pull held at the SiriusXM Music City Theatre in Nashville and broadcast live on the Outlaw Country channel, where Clement hosted a weekly show for over eight years:

Bobby Bare also visited SiriusXM’s Willie’s Roadhouse studios in Austin, TX this past March and performed the old folk song Boll Weevil, which is included on his latest album, Darker Than Light. Watch this intimate solo performance here:

Congratulations to Country Music Hall of Fame 2013 classmates Bobby Bare, Kenny Rogers, and the late, great Cowboy Jack Clement, you are greatly missed in Outlaw Country.
