As the Detroit Tigers continue to struggle and the chances of a fifth straight AL Central title dwindle, it appears as if they could be sellers at this year’s July 31 trade deadline. SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio’s Adam Schein wants it to happen.

On Schein on Sports, Schein spoke about why the Tigers need to begin rebuilding and trade their biggest chips for prospects, and why they should move on from manager Brad Ausmus.

“If I’m Detroit I’d sell everybody, I’d sell high,” Schein said. “Brad Ausmus has done nothing as a manager in Detroit. The Tigers are four games out of the wild card. They’re 46-46. The Tigers aren’t dead, but this team needs a reboot. They need a new direction.”

Schein also talked about how much contending teams could benefit if the Tigers actually make some of their bigger names available.

“Can you imagine if the Houston Astros, if they said, ‘You know what, we’re going to go for it, we want to win the division and we’re going to try to make a trade for David Price,'” said Schein. “Can you imagine if the Pittsburgh Pirates made a trade for [Yoenis] Cespedes? Can you imagine if the New York Mets actually remembered they’re in it, and said, ‘You know what, I want Cespedes.’?”
