The 2015-2016 NBA season is almost here, and to get ready for all the action the new season will bring, SiriusXM NBA Radio is visiting the training camps of 11 teams, bringing fans updates, interviews and insights from some of the best in the game. NBA Radio recently stopped by the camp of the Wizards. The Wizards are looking to advance deeper into the postseason this year after, they were eliminated in six games by the Atlanta Hawks in last year’s Eastern Conference semifinals.

With Paul Pierce no longer on the team, Bradley Beal said he and John Wall are taking on leadership roles.

“Everybody follows behind us and the team looks up to us for support, for answers, for everything,” Beal said. “It’s a terrific role and to be able to learn from Paul, who’s a future Hall of Famer, of what it takes to be able to lead a team, and what it takes to get to a championship, is bar none spectacular.”

General manager Ernie Grunfeld is very happy with the team’s backcourt coming into the new season.

“I think we’re the best young backcourt in the league,” Grunfeld said. “That’s what we’re trying to build everything around, those two guys. And Bradley’s only 22, John just turned 25, and they still have a lot of room for improvement. So I put our backcourt there with any other backcourt in the league.”
