Thunder’s thunderous slams

In the last game before All-Star weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the New Orleans Pelicans 121-95. The Thunder had themselves a little dunk show during the game. Check the highlights and enjoy the filthy slam at the end by Russell Westbrook, who really should consider participating in a dunk contest:

All-Star emojis

Speaking of All-Star weekend, the NBA debuted special emojis for the players who’ll be participating in Sunday’s game. The emojis can be used by hashtagging a player’s first and last names. Some are generic, others are straight-up fire. Let us know which ones you like best.

NHL hat-tricks, Weezy the hockey fan?

There were three hat-tricks in the NHL last night. Edmonton’s Jordan Eberle led the Oilers to a 5-2 win over Toronto; his rookie-sensation teammate Connor McDavid added two goals and three assists. Dallas’ Patrick Eaves put in three goals in the first period of the Stars’ 4-2 win over Chicago. Lastly, and by far the coolest, Alex Ovechkin netted his 14th career hat-trick to lead Washington past Minnesota, 4-3. Ovie now leads the NHL in goals.

But that’s not the cool part; Ovechkin received a congratulatory message from … Lil’ Wayne? Yes, apparently Weezy is a hockey fan.

Bill Walton breaks out a glockenspiel

Our must-see moment of the night comes from the sidelines of Cal’s 83-63 upset win over #11 Oregon. In the middle of the blowout, color commentator Bill Walton broke out a glockenspiel and played it on air. Broadcast partner Dave Pasch did his best to keep Walton focused on the game to no avail. Check out Walton’s savagery in this hilarious video:
