Eric WeddleThe Baltimore Ravens’ defense is looking forward to the opportunity Sunday to go against the Dallas Cowboys’ dynamic rookie duo of quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott.

It’s the type of challenge that brings out the best in defensive players.

‘What better chance to show what we’re all about than this Sunday?’

And Ravens safety Eric Weddle expects that to happen with everyone on Baltimore’s defense.

“We can’t wait to get on the field and challenge ourselves going against one of the best offenses in this league, one of the best offensive lines, the best back, obviously one of the best receiving corps … so what better chance to show what we’re all about than this Sunday?” Weddle told Bruce Murray and Kirk Morrison on the SiriusXM Blitz.

‘Great offensive line, running game make life easy for a quarterback’

Weddle is highly impressed with Prescott, but sees ways that the Ravens can take advantage of his inexperience.

“Very impressive, obviously,” Weddle said. “He makes great reads, great throws. Doesn’t force it much. He’s forced it a few times where the defense hasn’t capitalized on the opportunity. But when you have such a great offensive line and a great running game, it makes life easy for a quarterback, as we all know. You get a lot of one-on-ones on the outside and a lot of vanilla defense.

“That’s why it’s so important for us to win on first and second down and get them in third-and-long situations where we can give them multiple looks and try to game him into making a bad decision.”
