Tiger Woods with Brian Katrek - SiriusXM PGA TOUR RadioTiger Woods has been off the course since undergoing microdiscectomy surgery on his back March 31st, when he was forced to withdraw from this year’s Masters Tournament. Speaking with SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio‘s Brian Katrek at Media Day for the Quicken Loans National, to be held June 23-29 by the Tiger Woods Foundation, Woods discussed the pain that ultimately led him to opt for surgery.

That zinging pain that I had, aw man, it was tough because I just couldn’t do anything anymore […] I just couldn’t get out of bed. People make fun of this but when you’re in that type of pain, do you actually want to get up and go to the bathroom? You start thinking, it’s gonna hurt like hell.

Woods has been rehabbing and hopes to return to the course as soon as possible, but there is no timetable at the moment. “The hard part is there’s no date when I can come back.” Woods said. “The plan is to just take it day-by-day and week-by-week and just keep making little bitty improvements and making sure the firing sequence is right, keep building stability and strength and all that stuff. The hard part is I can’t tell anyone when I’m coming back because even I don’t even know.”
