This week on Morning Men with Evan Cohen and Mike Babchik (2/9-2/13)

WHAT I LEARNED THIS WEEK

A lot happens on the Morning Men on Mad Dog Sports Radio, so it’s a good thing that a guy like me takes notes on everything I’ve learned over the course of the week. However, what I learn each week is not what everyone else has learned, making the “What Babchik learned this week” segment on Morning Men not only a fun listen, but also an educational one.

TAKE AWAY THE TITLE!

A big story this week was Little League Baseball’s decision to strip the U.S. championship from Chicago-based Jackie Robinson West because the league used players who lived outside the team’s geographic area. Evan and I didn’t realize how dirty, demanding and out of control youth sports have become. We shared stories from our youth and told the world what the only thing a parent should be concerned with while their kids play sports.

RIP DEAN SMITH

We started the week with some sad news as legendary North Carolina head coach Dean Smith died at the age of 83. Former UNC player head coach Matt Doherty came on and had some amazing stories about the late great Dean Smith.

I SEE YOU DJ IRIE

The official DJ of the Miami Heat and NBA All-Star Weekend DJ Irie was in the building to talk about spinning with all the NBA stars. What he didn’t realize was he was walking into a battlefield because he was about to have a DJ spinoff with DJ Mike Babs in a Morning Men face-off.

THE RETURN OF LISA ANN

SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio host Lisa Ann returned to her usual Monday spot on Morning Men. She could not wait to tell us all that went down while she was gone, and how now that she is retired, she can’t wait to get off the bench for NBA All-Star Weekend.

What a week for Morning Men and I can’t wait till next week! This weekend is Valentine’s Day so I have big plans with my wife. This year we are doing … nothing! I don’t want to be one of those guys who treat their wife differently on V-Day, and I refuse to raise the bar too high. In fact I always try to keep it as low as possible so there are no expectations. It is the key to a healthy marriage …
