It’s safe to say, Bryce Harper has officially arrived.

The 22-year-old is off to a ridiculous start this season for the Washington Nationals, on pace to set personal records in every statistical category. Prior to this season, Harper’s career highs included 22 home runs, 59 RBIs, a .274 batting average and a 133 OPS+. Through 39 games this year, Harper already has 14 home runs and 37 RBIs, and is batting .338 with a Major-League best 222 OPS+.

So what is it exactly that led Harper to this absurd coming out party? MLB Network Radio’s Steve Sax explained on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio.

“Bryce Harper might just be scratching the surface on how good he can be,” Sax said. “I see him bat a lot, and I see him on every pitch. I see the way not only he swings at pitches, but the way he takes pitches. There’s a great way you can tell and see if a guy is really on the ball. And he is seeing every bit of the ball. He is seeing the change-ups well, he is seeing the fastball. He’s really picking it up quick. And boy, his timing and mechanics are really in sync. … Tremendous power, great hitter, hits the ball the other way.”

Sax also spoke with the Fantasy Sports Radio hosts about Nelson Cruz and Joe Panik.
