Kurt Russell snatched Goldie Hawn‘s heart three decades ago when she watched him fall in love with her now-famous children, actors Oliver and Kate Hudson.

The Hollywood icon revealed how her romance with Russell began during a live Town Hall hosted by Andy Cohen to promote Snatched, her new comedy with Amy Schumer.

They first met on the set of the 1968 Disney movie The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band when she was 20 and he was about 16 years old.

“He was really cute, but he was too young,” Hawn explained with a laugh.

But sparks flew while the two filmed 1984’s Swing Shift.

“I remember I brought him back to my house and we were going to go dancing together on the pretense that we had to do a jitterbug, which we never did. It was like a reason to go out,” Hawn said. “He came in to see my kids, and Katie and Oliver were sleeping. Katie was 3 and Ollie was 5. And I remember how he looked at the children, and I fell in love with him right there.”

“I just got all welled up and thought, ‘Oh, if somebody could love my children the way I do, my life would be perfect,'” she added, growing misty-eyed.

As for Schumer and her boyfriend, furniture designer Ben Hanisch?

“I mean, Goldie makes the not getting married model look pretty appealing,” she told Cohen.

Snatched premieres May 12.

Andy Cohen Live airs Mondays from 10 am to 12 pm on SiriusXM Radio Andy (Ch. 102).
