Vice Presidential Debate: Pence’s solid performance, Kaine on the attack

In a combative 90-minute debate at Longwood University Tuesday, vice presidential contenders Tim Kaine and Mike Pence didn’t hold back in their one and only face-off of the election cycle.

According to a CNN/ORC poll released immediately after the debate, Pence came out on top displaying a calmer composure and debate style radically different from the top of his ticket. Kaine, on the other hand, pressed his opponent to defend controversial comments made by Donald Trump on the campaign trail.
