Sen. Jeff Sessions defended his party’s presidential nominee despite the growing backlash from fellow Republicans due to mounting accusations of sexual assault directed at Donald Trump.

“[Trump’s] not a perfect person,” Sessions admitted to Breitbart Washington Bureau Editor Matthew Boyle Thursday morning. “We know that, we know he has flaws but his strength, his drive, his will and his correct position on the issues give us one last chance to put the country on the right path.”

Sessions was quick to caution the American people to make sure “their politicians don’t pull the wool over their eyes” by complaining about “decade old problems with Donald Trump.”

He reiterated, “Hillary Clinton, at this very moment, is participating in one of the greatest frauds on the American people by continuing her idea of open borders and open trade. That’s the choice for us.”

The junior Senator from Alabama is actively standing by his candidate. He even travelled to St. Louis, MO to spin for Trump after the second presidential debate.

“This is a huge election,” Sessions told Boyle. “I just urge our people to focus on the big issues, to understand what is at stake. And there’s a lot of others, like the courts and Obamacare and taxes and regulations. Trump is right on all those issues. Classical Republican issues.”

In light of the candidate’s struggling poll numbers, Sessions has one question for those doubting Trump’s path to the White House.

“Why can’t [Trump] come back again? He absolutely can.”
