Airing Sunday 1/19 at 12 pm ET on SiriusXM U

It takes a strong talent to cover rock n’ roll staple The Strokes, but judging by San Fermin’s recent visit to SiriusXM U, the avant-pop collective are more than up to the challenge.

Led by Brooklyn composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone, San Fermin took a minute from their SiriusXM U Session to play a rendition of Heart in a Cage (from The Strokes’ First Impressions of Earth album). Instead of emulating Julian Casablancas & Co.’s high-pitched guitar track, San Fermin relied on their trademark free-jazz-esque horns and offbeat percussion.

Listen to San Fermin cover The Strokes’ Heart in a Cage below, and tune into the band’s full SiriusXM U Session airing Sunday.
