If you’re a golf fan, there’s a good chance you have Rory McIlroy in your dream Sunday foursome. Unfortunately for you, you’re not in McIlroy’s dream foursome unless your name is Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus or Seve Ballesteros.

Recently on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio, McIlroy explained to Matt Adams why of all the greats to play the game, in a perfect world, he’d play a round with Seve, Jack and Ben.

HOGAN

I never had a chance to watch him hit golf balls. I’ve watched YouTube videos. I’ve read books. He’s the purest striker of a golf ball I think that ever lived. To be able to witness that in person would’ve been very special.

NICKLAUS

The most successful golfer to ever play the game. I’ve become quite friendly with him over the last few years, being a member of his golf club over in Florida. I haven’t played with him as of yet.

BALLESTEROS

I remember a phone call at the 2010 Ryder Cup. The 12 players were huddled around this little speaker phone and Seve, who was ill at the time, gave the most unbelievable speech; motivational, you could still feel his passion for the Ryder Cup, for the European Tour, for Europe in general. That’s the fire that he had inside him every time he walked out on the golf course.
