The Golden God himself, Robert Plant, has had a prolific career post-Led Zeppelin. Having just released a critically acclaimed new album, Carry Fire, with his band the Sensational Space Shifters, the legendary singer told stories and answered fan questions about his Hall-of-Fame career during a Town Hall hosted by David Fricke.

While discussing his time as the frontman for Zeppelin and his enormously successful solo work, Plant described how he draws inspiration for songs, starting with the fact that he “always write[s] stuff down.”

“I think I’m always observant,” he said. “I see. I hear. I remark at the ridiculousness of my condition, and that kind of quite often gives me good fuel to sing about characters in songs who are actually me, but maybe they’re not.”
