UFC 162 featured arguably one of the bigger upsets in the promotion’s history, as Chris Weidman beat Anderson Silva to win the middleweight title.

SiriusXM Fight Club was on location for the event, conducting interviews prior to the fight at the UFC 162 Expo and then after the fight with some of the bigger names in mixed martial arts.

Some of the best sound from the weekend came from Ray Longo and John Danaher, two of Weidman’s trainers. Longo and Danaher spoke with Fight Club after Weidman’s victory about the surprising way that Weidman won — via knockout — and what Weidman had to do to phase out Silva’s antics throughout the fight.

At the expo, all-time great UFC fighter Chuck Liddell spoke with Fight Club about pay for fighters. Liddell stressed that the UFC is a performance-based business, and said of fighters, “You get good, you win, and then you get paid.”

Cat Zingano also dropped by Fight Club at the expo. Zingano, who beat Miesha Tate to earn a title shot against Ronda Rousey but had to drop out after suffering a knee injury, will earn a title shot against the winner of the next fight between Rousey and Tate. Zingano spoke about which fighter she would rather face once she’s healthy.

UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer was also at the expo. He spoke with Fight Club about the history of the promotion and several turning points that led to the huge success UFC has seen over the past several years. Buffer specifically mentioned Dana White’s arrival and the first fight between Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock at UFC 40.
