Following his surprising loss to Chris Weidman at UFC 162, former middleweight champion Anderson Silva told the media he wasn’t interested in the rematch with Weidman that Dana White had guaranteed.

R.J. Clifford of SiriusXM Fight Club isn’t buying the talk.

Monday night, when discussing last weekend’s main event with Ricky Bones, Clifford said that Weidman will fight the all-time great again, and that the new middleweight champ should again be favored.

“This was the guy that could beat Anderson Silva. I was 60-40 on it. I’m still 60-40 when the rematch happens,” Clifford said. “And I guarantee you, do not let Anderson Silva’s antics fool you. He will rematch the champion Chris Weidman, and he could still beat Chris Weidman the second time around. [But] I’ve picked Weidman before, I’ll pick Weidman again. He is the next breed of fighter.”
