He thinks the smarter move would be to go with rookie Christian Hackenberg.

‘You already know how you feel about Bryce Petty’

“And the reason why I say that is he was your second-round pick,” Brady told co-host Bruce Murray on the SiriusXM Blitz. “I think you already know how you feel about Bryce Petty because, I guess if you were sure he could be the guy, you wouldn’t have taken Christian Hackenberg in the second round this year. They just drafted Bryce Petty last year in the fourth round.

“Now, you’ve got to see what you can get from Christian Hackenberg before we can evaluate what we want to do at the quarterback position next year. … Whether they feel he’s ready or not, (offensive coordinator) Chan Gailey needs to find a way to put in a simple system to see what he’s capable of in some real live game scenarios.”
