When a group of performers has great chemistry, they’ll find ways to perform together.

Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell and Mike Bivins first performed together in the legendary R&B group New Edition. Now, the foursome is hitting the road as RBRM and bringing their trademark harmonies to stages around the US and Canada. They performed live in a Heart & Soul (Ch. 48) “Up Close & Personal” and shared how they came to collaborate. The Heart & Soul “Up Close & Personal” episode is available on demand. If you hear a certain familiar rhythm in “Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike,” you’re not wrong – the four names make up a lyric in the New Edition tune, “Cool it Now.”

“[RBRM] was talked into fruition 30-something years ago,” Brown tells Heart & Soul host Cayman Kelly. “We’re cooler now.”

Although the four have known each other since their time in New Edition, they hadn’t performed together in decades. Brown left New Edition in 1985 to launch a solo career and Bell, Bivins and DeVoe formed Bell Biv DeVoe in 1989.

It turns out that the four had planned to tour in 2018, so why not combine forces?

Despite their separate career paths, the four have stayed in contact as they married and started families.

On tour, RBRM will perform a combination of New Edition, Bell Biv DeVoe and Bobby Brown songs. Get a taste of their sound with this performance of Bobby Brown’s “Roni.”

The RBRM Tour will showcase all the chart-topping hits audiences know and love from New Edition, BBD and the group’s individual solo acts, giving fans a fresh blend of all their favorite songs.

SiriusXM host Kid Capri and Case will open the majority of the shows and the Grammy Award-winners will welcome other special guests including Faith Evans on select dates. Learn more about the tour here.
