We’re unveiling five-player groups of SiriusXM NBA Radio‘s first Top 25 player rankings this week!

NBA Radio's Player Rankings: 10-6

One big man, Marc Gasol, barely edged out another big man, yesterday’s No. 11 player DeMarcus Cousins (139 points), for the 10th spot in the rankings. This means Gasol, last year’s 1st Team All-NBA center, is the top-ranked center on our list. Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace knows just how good Gasol is, and last month he joined Off the Dribble to talk about how important it was for the team to re-sign Gasol this summer.

While only one center makes the top 10, there are multiple point guards, including Russell Westbrook (sixth) and Chris Paul (eighth). Westbrook took his game to another level last season after Kevin Durant went down with injury. That explosion was reason enough for most voters to put Westbrook right around the top five. However, Justin Termine is still not totally sold on Westbrook, ranking him No. 9 – two spots behind Paul:

If this was a ranking based off talent, Westbrook would be in the top three or four of my list. But this is a list based on who the best player is, and I feel his decision-making drops him down a few pegs. He puts up more crooked numbers than Chris Paul and Steph Curry, but I feel more comfortable with the ball in either one of their hands … When/if he improves on that, then he will shoot up my list in a significant way.

Check back tomorrow as we enter the top five!
