Major League Baseball lost one of its legendary voices today, as commentator Milo Hamilton passed away.

Hamilton’s career spanned over 50 years with seven different MLB teams, including the Astros, Braves, Cubs and Pirates.

On MLB Network Radio, former player and current Astros’ color analyst Geoff Blum shared his memories of Hamilton.

“When you made it to the big leagues and you heard a guy like Milo Hamilton announce your at-bat to your base hit, that was the piece of tape you wanted to hold onto for a while,” Blum said. “Getting a chance to hang out with him and just pick his brain on some of the things he’s seen over his career is absolutely incredible.”

Hamilton’s most famous call on the mic came when Hank Aaron hit career home run number 715 to pass Babe Ruth as the all-time champion.

“Here’s a drive into left-center field. That ball is gonna be outta here! It’s gone! It’s 715! There’s a new home run champion of all time, and it’s Henry Aaron!”
