The people have spoken and they love this year’s Chicago Cubs infield. That’s the biggest story coming out of MLB’s announcement of the roster for the 87th annual MLB All-Star Game. Chicago Cubs Anthony Rizzo (first base), Ben Zobrist (second), Addison Russell (shortstop) and Kris Bryant (third) will be the starting infield for the National League and it’s the first time in over 50 years that a team has fielded an entire starting infield (coincidentally, the only other team to do this was the North Siders dreaded rivals in St Louis, back in 1963.) In addition to the Cubs’ strong representation, the Boston Red Sox are sporting an four starters on the American League roster. Xander Bogaerts, Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and the ageless David Ortiz will all be in uniform from the land of clam chowder and Sam Adams.
