If you’d never heard Michael Richards out of character, we’d forgive you for assuming his real-life persona mirrored that of Cosmo Kramer, the quirky next-door neighbor he played on the all-time great show, Seinfeld. But according to Richards, in an exclusive interview on Entertainment Weekly Radio – where he and fellow cast members were promoting his new TV Land sitcom, Kirstie – it took time for him to fully form the character of Kramer.

“I know the number of shows, about 14 shows in,” Richards said. “I had him come through the door quickly because I felt that was the nature of his character. He comes into situations fast, and wants to get involved and get moving. Let’s go. So, that took time.”
