On Monday, The New York Times reported that the Obama administration “decided to stop trying to block over-the-counter availability” of Plan B One-Step, a morning-after contraceptive pill, for women and girls regardless of age. President Barack Obama had previously opposed the court ruling, instead favoring restricted access to the pill.

Michael Smerconish discussed the news on his show, The Michael Smerconish Program, Tuesday on SiriusXM’s POTUS Politics, channel 124.

After giving an explanation of the Times report and the news, Smerconish welcomed comments from his listeners. Among the topics broached: What would you do if your teen-aged child had unprotected sex? And what if she was too afraid to tell you that she was pregnant?

Smerconish also considered the question: “Is the Obama administration waving the white flag, or seemingly so, on the distribution of Plan B?”

Listen to hear various perspectives on this topic, from Smerconish and listeners, and learn more about the new ruling.

The Michael Smerconish Program airs weekdays at 9 am ET on SiriusXM POTUS Politics.
