Secretary of Labor Seth Harris addressed the lack of summer jobs for youth with Joe Madison on SiriusXM Urban View. President Obama’s fiscal year 2014 budget proposal includes $2.5 billion toward summer and year-round jobs for disadvantaged youth, which Harris emphasized is key to keeping teenagers on the path to success.

“When kids work over a summer, they’re more likely to stay in school and more likely to end up employed after they leave school,” Harris said.
