National League All-Star manager Bruce Bochy and American League All-Star manager Jim Leyland joined Casey Stern and Jim Bowden on MLB Network Radio’s Inside Pitch Monday to discuss the process of filling out their rosters for the game.

Bochy spoke about several of the players that he felt bad were left off the team, but added that Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig wasn’t necessarily in that category.

“I still didn’t feel he should be on the roster,” Bochy said. He added, though, that he had “no problem” putting Puig on the All-Star Game final vote ballot, which is open through Thursday at 4 pm ET.

Leyland was asked by Stern and Bowden specifically about the omission of Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria. Leyland told the duo that despite the fact he chose utility man Ben Zobrist over Longoria, he “absolutely” thought Longoria was an all-star.
