Jeff Gordon dropped by the SiriusXM studios on Tuesday where he guest DJ’ed for Pop2k, talked with Bleacher Report Radio, and even dropped in on Sway in the Morning. But first, he took some time out to field some questions on Facebook Live.

The NASCAR icon opened up first about one of his favorite moments off the track, hosting “Saturday Night Live” in 2003.

“I thought it was just a kind gesture and I actually didn’t respond to the invitation the first time because I was, I think, too intimidated by it,” Gordon said. Eventually though, Gordon accepted. “It was one of those heart-pounding moments because I was scared to death, but also one of the most rewarding.”

The four-time Sprint Cup Series champion also talked about life after full-time racing, filling in for Dale Earnhardt Jr. this season, his favorite music and more. Catch the full interview below:

And listen to this weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway airing on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Ch. 90) at 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
