J.E. Skeets: You can’t compare Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving to Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh

J.E. Skeets admits it’s too soon to call the Cleveland Cavaliers’ summer plan a mistake. Just like the last time LeBron James was a part of a new Big 3, it’s possible that it will take time for this roster to mesh.

According to Skeets, though, the comparison between the Miami Heat Big 3 and the Cleveland Cavaliers Big 3 ends with LeBron.

“I think it sort of does injustice to guys like Bosh and Wade in even comparing Kyrie and Love to those guys,” Skeets said on SiriusXM Bleacher Report Radio. “Those two, Wade and Bosh, are Hall of Famers. Wade had already won before they made the Big 3 down there. He was proven, he performed in the playoffs. Kyrie and Love, I love these guys, they’re great players, they put up stats, they’re entertaining, but they have’t won anything. Absolutely nothing. So this is completely new.”

In addition to the difference in talent between Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, and Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, Skeets noted that the Cavs are far inferior to LeBron’s Heat on defense.

“Defensively, they’re a joke. And that’s where the old Heat, back in 2010, they were not. They were struggling offensively in trying to get shots, but they were great defensively.”

Fortunately for the Cavs, they play in the East. And because of that, a trip to the NBA Finals still isn’t out of the question.

“They’re gonna be in the playoffs regardless,” Skeets said. “So as long as you’re playing your best ball when it comes to April of the season, there’s no reason the Cavs, especially with LeBron on your team, can not only go to the East finals, but also the Finals.”
