SiriusXM is raising the roof on Top 40 music.

Hits 1 in Hollywood launched from the top of the Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles Tuesday, expanding its live coverage of pop culture news, artists and the jams you can’t get out of your head.

Starring comedian/TV personality Michael Yo, radio vet Tony Fly and singer Symon, the show expands Hits 1‘s coverage from coast to coast.

Their first guests? Andy Grammer, Steve Aoki and Louis Tomlinson, who spoke about his baby boy, losing his mom and relationship with ex-One Directioner Zayn.

“It’s a strange feeling, but it’s nice,” Tomlinson said of hearing Zayn’s solo songs on the radio. “I think a lot of us have spoken recently, me and Zayn have spoken recently — we’ve gotten to a point now where you can just really be happy for each other. Things have happened in the past of course, and it’s great. And his first song was an absolute smash. It’s a great song, so yeah, it’s nice.”

Tomlinson welcomed his first child last January. Though he said he sings son Freddie lullabies, he said becoming a dad hasn’t affected his music.

“I’d like to say it’s made me a bit more mature. I don’t know if that’s actually true,” he joked.

It’s been a year of highs and lows for Tomlinson, whose late mother was diagnosed with leukemia while he was working on Just Hold On, his EDM-influenced collaboration with Aoki.

“When I first found out about the news, I kind of did want to throw the towel in, but it was my mom who said to me that I just got to to keep going. She told me very sternly that she wanted me to,” he said. “It was tough, but I felt like it was nice for me to almost have a send-off for her.”

Hits 1 in Hollywood airs weekdays from 4-7 pm PT on SiriusXM Hits 1 (Ch. 2), as well as through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices and online at siriusxm.com.
