Marshall Bruce Mathers III — better known as hip-hop legend, Rap God, and Shade 45 (Ch. 45) bossman Eminem — is one of the best-selling and most influential music artists of all time. But how well do you know his legendary lyrics?

Eminem burst into the mainstream in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP, which earned him his first GRAMMY Award for Best Rap Album. His next two albums, The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show, both received worldwide commercial and critical acclaim; each being certified diamond in U.S. sales alone and winning GRAMMY Awards for Best Rap Album, making Eminem the first artist to win the award for three consecutive releases. To date, Eminem has released 11 studio albums and won 15 GRAMMYs.

Slim Shady’s other musical achievements include collaborations with Dr. Dre and D12, discovering artists like 50 Cent, and creating his own label, Shady Records. Eminem also starred in the hip-hop film 8 Mile, for which he wrote one of his most well-known tracks, “Lose Yourself.” The song also earned him the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2002.

Two years later, in 2004, Eminem got his own channel on SiriusXM. The channel was a welcome outlet for the rapper, who had faced accusations of indecency for his explicit lyrics.

“No middleman, no playlists, no bullshit. And most of all, no censorship,” Eminem told Rolling Stone before the channel launched.

Eminem is known for his complex multisyllabic rhyme schemes and his humorous and often personal subject matter. His technique is unmatched and he has crafted incredible mind-bending lyrics and verses. So, are you a Real Slim Shady expert? Take our lyrics quiz below!
